Funding Addresses Traffic Congestion Issues in 28th District
11/23/2021
HARRISBURG – Rep. Rob Mercuri (R-Allegheny) announced today the Township of Pine will receive $400,000 in funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program, which is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

The money will be used toward completing the Babcock/Bakerstown Signal and Turning Lane Project.

Mercuri released the following statement, commending the Township of Pine for being proactive and the CFA for approving the financial request:

“Whether you are going to work, buying groceries or going out for a family night, it is important to ensure everyone gets to where they need to be safely.

“Since the population size in the 28th District has grown, it quickly became clear that residents would face traffic congestion issues at a greater rate. This could lead to accidents and unexpected burden, and township officials acted swiftly in addressing this issue.

“I am pleased to see the Township of Pine receive the necessary funding after being very proactive, and I am grateful to the CFA for its commitment to helping our communities.”

The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth and holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
