HARRISBURG – Rep. Rob Mercuri (R-Allegheny) has been appointed by Chairman Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) to serve as secretary of the House Commerce Committee during the 2021-22 Legislative Session. 

“I'm pleased to be appointed by Chairman Roae to the role of secretary of the Commerce Committee during this consequential time for so many businesses and working families in Pennsylvania. I look forward to getting down to business for the hard-working people of Pennsylvania,” Mercuri said.

The Commerce Committee works with the departments of Community and Economic Development and Banking and Securities. It covers topics like state economic development, eligibility for mortgage assistance and consumer complaints regarding loans and credit cards.

The 28th District covers part of Allegheny County and consists of the townships of Marshall, McCandless and Pine; and the boroughs Bradford Woods and Franklin Park.
