WEXFORD – Rep. Rob Mercuri (R-Allegheny) issued the following statement on Phil Henry, long time supervisor and resident of Pine Township, who recently passed away:

“Phil Henry was a key contributor and a beloved member of the Pine Township community. He cared so deeply for everyone, and he strived during his time on the board of supervisors to make the area a much better place. He enjoyed working with colleagues during his 20-year tenure before he decided to call it a career in December of 2019.

“Phil served as a mentor to his social studies students in the Pine-Richland School District, teaching them the importance of voting and how it should never be taken for granted. He believed in democracy and showed the students how it worked by taking them to a polling place at Pine-Richland Stadium in 2011. His devotion to the community is unparalleled.

“I extend my condolences to the Henry family as they go through this difficult time. He will be truly missed.”
